I had the pleasure of shooting this little cutie’s first Birthday party a couple weekends ago. The minnie mouse theme was a hit with the handmade decorations, favors and themed snacks put together by her mother Katie. She wasn’t a big fan of the cake but she sure is a chocolate lover!

I shot Orry and Lauren’s engagement session a couple weekends ago in Southport, NC. Our original plan of beginning the shoot at Orton plantation was a bust, since that place is still locked up like Fort Knox. We still managed to bag a bunch of incredible images in our short 2 session. These two were naturals making my job easy and fun. And any excuse to explore around the beautiful downtown district of Southport is a good one. I look forward to capturing Orry and Lauren’s Wedding at the Southport Community Center in May.

James and Misty tied the knot a week ago, so I can now post some of the images we made for Misty’s bridal portraits. Since we could only schedule at noon, Misty arranged to shoot indoors because noon is not the best time to shoot outside. It worked out in our favor because it was a pretty cold and rainy day which would’ve made shooting outside impractical. We ended up at Watermark Marina, the same location of their wedding the following weekend. Here are some of what we got… I just finished up editing their wedding images, so I’ll have those up in a few days…

We headed down to Fort Fisher for Alex and Kristin’s Engagement Session last Tuesday. This is one of my favorite places to shoot, I always come back with some unique images, regardless of how many times i’ve shot there. It was also my first session with the new equipment and I’m really diggin the way things are looking. I have a bridal session and another engagement session this weekend, so keep an eye out for those. Carolina Beach, NC North End Sunrise

Got out before the sun came up wednesday morning to shoot the sunrise. These old jetty/pier pilings make a good foreground object. I wanted to get in the water to get a little more water movement, but the temp is down to the mid-50s. I blended exposures on the first three to spread the dynamic range a bit. Wrightsville Beach Portraits + Epic Sunset…

If you were down at the beach Saturday night, as I’m sure many of you were since it was the Annual Flotilla boat parade, you would of seen this incredible sunset. We don’t get em like this too often, although now is the time of year when they are at there best. I lucked out and was shooting a portrait session on the south-end as the sun was setting, although I didn’t have my landscape photog gear with me, I managed to score a few shots with the portrait lenses. Enjoy.
